Supporting our community, we showcase artworks from talented local artists:
The first to become members of GoldenIsleArt.com are:
Mark Durham, the man behind the canvas is a native Southerner with a knack for storytelling with a paintbrush. He has been selling his art through art festivals, Gift & Licensing shows and spent several years as a "street artist" on the streets of Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Mark is an animal lover and artist by nature, which is reflected in his gritty style and intensity of his artwork.
Ute Kleemann-Sportschuetz. Born and raised in Germany, Ute began her artistic journey in the 1980s as a watercolorist, capturing the light and landscapes of Southern Europe. Over time, her creative path evolved toward abstract expression, where emotion, color, and texture now define her distinctive voice.
Having lived with her husband and two children across several countries over the past 30 years, She continuously deepened her practice through workshops and studies with renowned artists. Her background in design and her passion for experimentation naturally led her to mixed media, where she combines acrylics, ink, watercolor, and collage to explore conceptual landscapes and vibrant visual narratives.
Her work—marked by bold color interactions and layered textures—has found homes in Germany, Austria, South Africa, the Middle East, Canada and the U.S.
Today, she continues to be inspired by the limitless language of abstract art and the joy of transforming ideas into compelling visual form.
She now permanently resides in beautiful St. Simons Island, Georgia in 2015.
